Remember that any color of roses expresses an emotion and creates a memory by the individual that sent them!
Roses are very thirsty flowers. When you receive fresh cut roses put them in water as soon as possible.
Choose a clean vase that is tall enough for your roses and holds lots of water. A packet of cut flower food should be added to the water so that your flowers will last longer.
Remove any leaves that will be below the water level once the stems are placed in the vase.
Give your rose stems a fresh cut with a sharp knife, under water if possible. A fresh cut enables the flowers to take up more water and flower food. A dry stem or a stem that has been sitting around and has bacteria clogging it does not allow the maximum absorption of water which will decrease the vase life of your roses.
Add water to the vase every day. Display your flowers in a cool location. Keep away from strong direct sunlight. Do not place near a heating vent or on top of a TV or other appliances that give off heat.
