Cut Flower Care.

Choose an appropriate clean container that will hold lots of water to display your flowers. Metal containers are not recommended. For some arrangements you may want to use a block of floral foam. Soak foam in water and cut to fit the shape of your container.

Add cut flower preservative to the water. Cut flower preservative prolongs the life of your flowers by slowing down bacteria growth in the water and feeding your flowers.

Start by cutting flower stems with a sharp knife on an angle or straight across. Do not use scissors since they can damage stems. Remove all foliage that will be below the water level before placing stems in vase.

Display flowers in a cool location, away from drafts, air conditioners or direct harsh sunlight. Do not place on TV, near heating vents or on any other appliances that give off heat.

Add water daily. If you are not using fresh flower preservative, change the water and re-cut stems every day.
